Award-winning watercolor artist based in Minneapolis, MN.
I am an artist living in Minneapolis, Mn. I get much of my inspiration from the natural world and paint in the Impressionistic style being cognizant of light, color, and patterns in nature. I work primarily with watercolors on Arches 140 lb cold-pressed paper and recently, I have been experimenting with painting on Yupo and Aquaboard. I am drawn to and at the same time challenged by the unpredictability and luminosity of the watercolor medium. I also work with Alcohol Inks on Yupo or ceramic tile finished with an epoxy resin.
Most of my paintings are realistic. Nature is my preferred subject. While I study, sketch and paint, I form an intimate connection and really see the beauty and complexity of a subject. I try to express that awe and wonder through my art and I hope that that is what an observer does, too.
